We have dedicated this section to answering some of the questions we are most frequently asked by our patients:

On my first appointment will I be examined and treated?2022-06-20T22:35:39+01:00
Yes, the physiotherapist will also, if appropriate, give you exercises to do at home to speed up your recovery.
My mother has had a ‘stroke’ and has been advised to have physiotherapy. Do you do this type of treatment?2022-06-20T22:35:13+01:00
Yes, we have physiotherapists experienced in treating neurological conditions.
I would like to become a physiotherapist and am currently studying at school. Do you take work experience students?2022-06-20T22:34:45+01:00
Sorry, but we like to respect our patients’ privacy and feel it is inappropriate to have unqualified members of the public in with us at the time of treating patients. Our physiotherapists are however very happy to chat to prospective students at any time and help in any way they can.
I have some problems with my ‘water works’ and have been advised by my doctor to have physiotherapy for pelvic floor exercise, do you do this?2022-06-20T22:34:12+01:00
Yes, this is a specialised field and we are lucky enough to have a physiotherapist who is highly qualified in this area.
How quickly can I get an appointment?2022-06-20T22:33:41+01:00
We usually try to see patients the following day, but certainly within 48hours. If you call early in the morning do leave a message on the answer phone; we will return your call as soon as possible and may be able to see you later in the day.
Do you do home visits?2022-06-20T22:33:13+01:00
Yes we can arrange a home visit. It is better if patients can be seen in the clinic, but sometimes a couple of treatments at home help build confidence before venturing out. We do charge more for home visits as they normally take longer and have to take into consideration the physiotherapist’s travelling time and expenses.
Do you do any exercise/Pilates classes at your clinic?2022-06-20T22:32:45+01:00
We have a physiotherapist who works at the clinic who teaches Pilates, as well as running Pilates classes locally in Pyrford.
Do you cover all sporting injuries as well as other injuries ?2022-06-20T22:32:18+01:00
Yes, between us all we have seen most problems over the years. We understand the need for sportsmen and women to return to their chosen sport as soon as possible and maintain fitness while they are recovering! We will handle your injury sensibly and give you the best advice to ensure a safe return as quickly as possible.
Do I need to bring any special clothing for my appointment?2022-06-20T22:31:51+01:00

It is essential that the physiotherapist can see the area of problem as this will aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. We are however very sensitive to patients feelings at all times, ensuring that you feel comfortable. The clinic does keep a supply of shorts and you are welcome to bring your own sports wear to change into.

As a busy clinic, it is advisable to phone to make an appointment for instant availability and confirmation of time allocated however you can email your queries to us.
